Give Hope Give Life
Every year a handful of special women decide to give hope and life to others by becoming an egg donor, but demand greatly outweighs supply.
For some couples, eggs donated by another woman is their only hope of achieving a pregnancy and ultimately a family. By donating your eggs, you'll be giving a woman and her partner the chance to experience the family they otherwise would only have dreamed of.
To give couples the family they so desperately want, we need to increase the number of donors in your area and we need your help. That's why the Department of Health are launching the Egg Donor Appeal in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol and London.
On average, over 300 donors are required every year in each of these regions and unfortunately the number of women who come forward as donors does not meet this demand. This means couples need to wait for an amazing woman to come forward and donate her eggs to make their dreams of having a family come true.
There is no doubt that kindness and compassion are huge motivators for donors, but these women also describe the experience as extremely rewarding on a personal level. Many speak about it as the "best thing I've ever done in my life".

Could you be a case study?
We have had 15 potential altruistic egg donors come forward in the Birmingham area following on from the launch in July. We are delighted with this response and would like to encourage more donors to come forward help us with the campaign.
We are due to hold a launch in London in December. Travel expenses will be paid and media training given.
